SES finalized its long-awaited, multi-billion-dollar acquisition of U.S.-based rival Intelsat as European markets opened July 17, expanding the world's largest geostationary satellite fleet. SES CEO Adel Al-Saleh told SpaceNews the company's next move is to drastically boost its medium Earth orbit network by "hundreds" of satellites.
