07/09/2025 BREAKING NEWS Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy named acting NASA administrator President Donald Trump announced late July 9 that he has named Sean Duffy, the transportation secretary, to take over as acting NASA administrator. A Cabinet member has never taken over leadership of NASA, even on an interim basis, in the nearly 70-year history of the space agency.
