SPACE MINDS PODCAST

A New Space Age

"So in this kind of new space age, here we have an explosion of commercial ventures, many of them are now possible because of the decrease in space launch costs, with some new technologies, with low Earth orbit communications, and then I think you're going to see a lot of other phenomenologies from space. They're going to have commercial applications that we still haven't fully exploited. An example that I would give you, I think, is synthetic aperture radar, which is, to this point, been largely a national security phenomenology, but I think it has the capability to become a commercially leveraged phenomenology, and much the same way electro optical has become in the last 15 to 20 years or so."
