| | | | 🚨Just In: China's AI-Driven Military Space Expansion
China's military modernization is accelerating, with AI-integrated space technologies playing a central role, according to the Pentagon's newly released China Military Power Report. The report reveals that China's military now operates over 1,000 satellites, including 360 dedicated to intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR)—a massive leap from just 36 satellites in 2010.
Key Details: • AI-Enhanced Precision Strikes: China's military doctrine now centers on "multi-domain precision warfare", combining satellite data with AI-powered systems to track, target, and strike U.S. and allied forces. This strategy integrates data from land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for highly coordinated operations. • Integrated Targeting Systems: The report highlights China's ability to identify vulnerabilities using space-based ISR satellites, directing precision missile strikes with minimal human intervention through advanced AI systems. "The PRC emphasizes the importance of space-based surveillance capabilities in supporting precision strikes." — Pentagon's China Military Power Report
China's growing capabilities in AI-powered surveillance and targeting reflect ambitions for global technological and strategic leadership, extending far beyond military confrontation.

| | Space42 Secures $5.1B UAE Contract Through 2043
The UAE's AI-powered SpaceTech company Space42 secured a $5.1 billion, 17-year contract with the UAE Government for satellite capacity and managed services, extending through 2043. The agreement follows the merger of satellite operator Yahsat and geospatial analytics firm Bayanat, forming Space42 earlier this year.
CEO Ali Al Hashemi framed the deal as a vote of confidence in Space42's evolving AI-driven space services strategy, including its plans for two new Al Yah satellites (4 & 5) launching aboard SpaceX Falcon 9 rockets in 2027 and 2028. Both satellites will be built by Airbus using its Eurostar Neo platform. | | Private Credit Meets Space Tech: How AI De-Risks Space Ventures
James Parker of Leonid Capital Partners sees AI-powered tools like digital twins and space domain awareness software as critical for reducing risk in space ventures. "If you've got an asset on orbit, you can't just risk breaking it with a bad software update," Parker said in a recent Commercial Space Transformers episode. "Digital twins give you a sandbox to test changes safely."
His firm has backed companies like Sadaro Systems, whose AI-driven digital twins simulate satellite repairs, and Scout Space, which uses AI-powered space domain awareness tools to track and avoid potential collisions in orbit. For Parker, these technologies represent essential risk management tools that make the space industry more investable.
